Artist Statement

The greatest joy of photography is exploring and sharing. However, my exploration isn’t limited to physical locations and subjects, and my favorite way to explore is to experiment with various elements and principles of design through editing. For me, the image my camera produces is just a starting point to achieve a final image that imitates a painting in its color, balance, and contrast, but still retains the detail and appearance of a photograph. My photography tends to favor Landscapes, Nature, Wildlife, and Travel Destinations, but I am always on the lookout for interesting subjects to further my exploration in this medium.
About Me
For as long as I can remember I have been an artist above all other things. That artistic ability and creativity has manifested itself in a multitude of different forms from Drawing, to Painting, Digital and Traditional Painting, 3D Modeling, and Photography.
I really love to explore and experiment with my art, and my venture into Photography began in early High School when I got my first point and shoot camera. Initially my main subjects were my various pets, and different places I had the fortune to visit as a young teen. Thanks to my previous venture in Digital Art, I was already familiar with Photoshop and quickly took to editing my photos. My parents recognized my passion for photography and after graduating High School they got my my very first entry level DSLR camera- a Pentax K-X. That summer I would take it with me to document a guided tour of Italy, France and Spain my High School was sponsoring. I returned with thousands of pictures and lifelong desire to travel, and to share beauty from around the world.
After I graduated High School, I was accepted into the Savannah College of Art and Design where I moved away from my home town near Austin, TX and began my venture in 3D Art for Video Games. While attending I learned to incorporate various elements of design in my work, and how that translates into different mediums. I never really put down my camera either, and continued to take pictures anytime I went somewhere interesting.
I graduated SCAD in 2015 with a BFA in Game Design, and started the next chapter of my life by moving to Belleville, Ontario in order to live with my Husband whom at the time I was dating long distance. In 2017 we got married and went to Greece and Italy for our Honeymoon, where I rekindled my love for photography in the very same place where it began. Later that year I finally upgraded to a Pentax K3II and decided to pursue my love for photography once again.
